Red Rose Recap

At the beginning of “Red Rose,” a mysterious presence starts to bother Alyssa in her house. Alyssa jumps off the roof and kills herself after her mother comes home. The scene then moves to Bolton, Greater Manchester, where we meet teenagers Rochelle “Roch” Mason and Wren Davies. Ashley Banister, Anthony Longwell, and Noah Royston are the girls’ friends who are helping them celebrate the end of the semester and the end of high school. The group as a whole is called the “Dickheads.” Roch asks Tariq “Taz” Sadiq, a person who doesn’t fit in, to join their group.

Roch feels sad after seeing Wren and Noah kiss at the party, so he makes up a reason to go home. Later, we find out that Roch has been having a hard time since her mother, Gloria Mason, killed herself. So, Roch has to take care of her younger town sisters and Vinny, her father. Someone in her class gives her the link to an app called “Red Rose.” Roch thinks she is talking to her dead mother, though, because of the app. Roch’s friendships with her friends, especially Wren, get worse at the same time.

When a fight Roch had with Wren is posted on social media, he is heartbroken and seems to kill himself. But Wren and the rest of the group soon figure out that Roch didn’t send the texts they got. In the same way, they didn’t get her texts, and the Red Rose app was the cause of the whole mix-up with Roch. So, the friends decide to find out more about the app. Taz finds out that a teenager from Manchester named Alyssa died in the same way that Roch did.

Wreen gets the Red Rose app and starts making fun of her because Roch died. Also, the app makes Wren, Big Jenna, and Little Jenna fight with each other. At the same time, Wren’s interactions with her father Rick, who is in prison, affect her relationship with her mother. The group needs the help of Jaya Mahajan, a computer whiz whom Roch didn’t like, to find out more about the mysterious app. Jaya says that Jacob, a teen who went to her coding club, was also killed in a way that was similar to what happened to Alyssa and Roch.

Jaya tries to figure out what Jacob has to do with Red Rose while the Dickheads are forced to work together to complete tasks that the app gives them. Red Rose makes fun of Wren to make her think she killed her best friend. In the end, Jaya, Wren, and the others get close to finding out what’s going on, but they have to fight to stay alive after Ashley and Jaya are attacked by unknown forces. The rest of the story is about how the group finds out the truth about Roch’s death and who made the app.

Red Rose Ending: Who Killed Rochelle? Who Created Red Rose?

Through a series of flashbacks that center on Jacob, viewers find out the truth about the event that set off the chain of events that led to Roch’s death in the eighth and final episode. Jacob was a teen who liked Alyssa, who was in his class. But Jacob was shy and worried about telling Alyssa how he felt about her. He was a great coder, and to get close to Alyssa, he made an app called Red Ross. But he started using the app to spy on Alyssa with help from his dark web friends, such as The Gardener.

In the end, the group makes Jacob tell Alyssa how he feels, which causes her to reject him. Jacob is comforted by the Gardener, and he gives the Gardener access to the app’s master control. The unknown person makes a few changes to the app and then uses it to bother Alyssa, which causes her to die. Later, Jacob finds out the truth, and when he tries to take back control, The Gardener kills him. The things that have happened show that The Gardener and his friends are a group of sadists who like to make other people suffer and get pleasure from it. Because they are cruel, they tortured Roch, which led to her death.

In the present, Jaya uses Jacob’s video tapes and laptop to find out the truth about Red Rose. Jaya figures out that the app was made by The Gardener, who is also threatening to hurt Wren and her friends. After the attack, which was meant to kill her, she tells her friend about it over the phone. Jaya also thinks that the real name of The Gardener is Rick. But Wren is already caught up in The Gardener’s strange game, even as she tries desperately to save her father, Rick.

Who Is The Gardener? Does Wren Save Rick?

In the last few seconds of the episode, Wren meets The Gardener face to face. The evil mastermind took Wren’s father hostage and probably left hints on the dark web that Rick killed Roch. Rick had been in jail before for killing someone accidentally. So, the app makes fun of Wren by telling her she should be just like her father and accept the darkness inside her. The conflicts that Wren faces both inside and outside of herself make for interesting content that other app users are watching.

Wren says that his name and identity don’t matter when he goes to The Gardener’s address to talk to him. When he stabs Rick, he angers Wren, and she fights with the man. Wren gets the better of the man and beats him. But when he tries to attack her again, Wren kills him with a wrench in a brutal way. Rick is saved by Wren, but she is blamed for the man’s death. Rick is caught by the police, and Wren is able to see her friends again. The Dickheads think that the man is The Gardener, and that they have finally stopped the bad guy.

By removing the Red Rose website from the dark web, Jaya proves the same thing. But the mysterious woman who took Noah in the last episode shows up before Jaya does. She says Red Rose is an idea that can’t be taken away. So, Jaya thinks that the woman is really the Gardener. But the woman walks away without proving or disproving the claims. In the end, the woman and the man’s answer will show who the mysterious Gardener really is. Most likely, the Gardener is not a single person but a group that does sadistic things with the Red Rose.

Is Red Rose Deleted?

After Wren beats Red Rose, the group of friends gathers at Roch’s grave to pay their respects. They find out the truth about how she died and can now look forward to a better future. In the last scene, though, the setting changes to Tokyo, Japan, and the focus is on a new group of teenagers who seem to have just finished a school semester. One of the teens gets a message that tells him how to get to a new version of the Red Rose app that is white and gold.

Red Rose hasn’t been destroyed despite Jaya’s best efforts, which proves what the woman said. Also, the change in color means that the app is new and better, which means that there will be much more dangerous challenges and threats in the future. But we cut to the end credits before we could see how the return of the famous app changed things. Still, more deaths are sure to happen as the app targets teenagers in a new place.
