Selena Gomez, a multi-talented performer, debuted as a child actor on “Barney & Friends” before becoming well-known for her portrayal of Alex Russo in the Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Places.” She continued to give strong onscreen performances and made appearances in major motion pictures like “Ramona and Beezus,” “Monte Carlo,” “Spring Breakers,” “Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising,” and “The Dead Don’t Die.”
With the food show “Selena + Chef” on HBO Max and the crime drama “Only Murders in the Building,” Selena made a comeback to television. The film focuses on Vásquez-Lavado’s life and journey as she became the first gay woman to climb the Seven Summits, or the highest mountains, including Mount Everest, on each continent. Selena is set to feature as Vásquez-Lavado and produce the biopic through her July Moon Productions, with Elgin James serving as the director.
Rising (TBA)
Back in April 2016, there were rumours that Selena Gomez and Aaron Kaplan were working together to develop and script the drama series “Rising,” which was dubbed the “Latina version of “Empire.” The programme, which is filmed in a Latino neighbourhood, centres on an 18-year-old girl who is destined for greatness. Selena will also executive produce the programme alongside Kaplan and Mandy Teefey through their Kapital Entertainment company. We cannot anticipate the project’s release within the next two years since there hasn’t been any news on its production in more than seven years.

The upcoming horror drama “Spiral,” directed by Petra Collins, follows the story of a former social media influencer whose addiction to social media starts to harm her physical being and causes her body to actually break apart. Selena was reportedly in talks to play the lead role in the Drake-produced film as far back as April 2021. Selena and Collins have been friends since they first connected in 2015 while working together on Wonderland magazine, and in 2017 they collaborated on the music video for “Fetish.” There is no information regarding an official release date for “Spiral” because there hasn’t been any update on its development and manufacturing.
