“Succession,” a comedy-drama show on HBO, is about the Roy family, who own a global media company called Waystar RoyCo. When Logan Roy’s health starts to get worse, he has to choose a way to get better, which leads to a power struggle among his family and close friends. Marcia Roy, Logan’s wife, is one of the people who are closest to him. Given how close she is to Logan, viewers might be surprised to see her not at her husband’s birthday party in the first episode of season 4. People will naturally wonder what Marcia’s role in the story is and what her relationship status is. In that case, here’s everything you need to know about what will happen to Marcia and why she might split up with Logan in “Succession.” SPOILERS AHEAD!
What Happened to Marcia Roy?
In the first episode of the first season of “Succession,” the actress Hiam Abbass plays Marcia Roy. Abbass has worked on movies like “Hellraiser,” “Blade Runner 2049,” and “Munich,” a 2005 historical drama directed by Steven Spielberg. Some viewers may know the actress as Maysa Hassan from the comedy-drama series “Ramy” and as Abbey Chase from the thriller series “The Old Man.” In “Succession,” Abbass Marcia Roy is Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) third and current wife. Logan is the head of the Roy family and owns Waystar Co. At first, Marcia has a hard time fitting into how her family works. She doesn’t get along well with Kendall, Shiv, and Roman, Roy’s children.
Marcia loves her husband very much and takes an active role in the family’s business. Marcia shows over time that she is just as good at power games as Logan’s kids, if not better. So, Logan respects her and lets her have a say in family matters. Still, Logan’s search for a worthy successor has a big effect on how his family works. After Logan’s deal to buy Pierce Global Media (PGM) falls through in the second season, he chooses Rhea Jarrell (Holly Hunter), the former CEO of PGM, to take over as his boss. So, Logan starts sleeping with Rhea, and his affair with her has an effect on his marriage to Marcia. At some point, Marcia finds out about Rhea’s affair with Logan and confronts the woman who has been cheating on her husband.
Did Marcia and Logan Roy Get a Divorce?
When Logan’s affair with Rhea is found out, it does a lot of damage to his relationship with Marcis. But Marica doesn’t confront her husband first, which suggests that she thought he would cheat. Still, Marcia goes back to the United States after talking to Rhea, while the rest of the Roy family stays in Scotland. After Logan’s cheating is found out, Marcia seems to leave him, but their marriage does not end completely. In the third season, Waystar Co has a lot of legal problems because Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), Kendall’s son, says that his father did bad things. Logan’s lawyer thinks that it would be best for him and Marcia in the long run for them to appear to have made up in public.
When Logan tries to talk to Marcia and suggests that they act like they’re back together, she agrees. But Marcia uses the situation to her advantage and gets a lot of money in exchange for appearing in public with her husband. On the other hand, Logan is forced to do what Marcia wants because a messy divorce would be terrible for his public image. Marcia shows up here and there in the third season, but she is not a big part of the story. She doesn’t live with Logan anymore, and the only reason they are still together is for public relations. Because of this, Marcia and Logan are, at best, not close. In the first episode of the fourth season, it is said that Marcia is in Milan on one of her never-ending shopping trips. So, it’s clear that she’s off doing her own thing and isn’t as involved in Logan’s life as she used to be. So, Logan and Marcia are no longer together as a couple, even though they are still married.
