One of the few reality TV programmes that has won over viewers’ hearts and attention on a global scale is “Love Island.” The show, which is well-known for its blend of romance, drama, and mystery, has helped a number of couples gain recognition and win the hearts of their viewers. Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp, who took first place on the first season of “Love Island Australia” in 2018, are one of these couples.
The audience was swiftly drawn in by Tayla, a 21-year-old with a degree in journalism and television, and Grant, a 22-year-old electrician. Grant briefly rekindled their romance, but Tayla was adamant about maintaining their connection. She doesn’t require one more. Actually, I’m the one who needs to apologise right now,” Tayla remarked. They were able to work out their problems and stay in their committed partnership. Grant admitted during a lie detector exam that he was faithful, attractive, and in love with Tayla. They ultimately prevailed on “Love Island Australia,” and they exited the programme as official girlfriend and boyfriend.
Are Tayla and Grant Still Together?
No, Tayla and Grant aren’t still dating. Despite the swings and turns of their “Love Island” adventure, their romance was unable to endure the scandals and disclosures in the real world. Only two weeks after they left the dating reality show, on July 19, 2018, Tayla posted on Instagram to confirm the breakup, writing, “It’s with great heartbreak that I write this post to inform everyone that Grant and I are no longer together, but will remain amicable despite the circumstances.” However, Grant appeared taken aback by the news and replied, “This is news to me??” Tayla had to learn the heartbreaking reality about Grant’s romantic situation after the programme.

It turned out that Grant had been accused of having a girlfriend named Lucy Cartwright outside the villa the entire time. Tayla was devastated by the news and began to wonder if he had been being sincere on the show. Grant, however, persisted in refuting the claims, writing on Instagram that “Going into Love Island, that girl totally knew I was going in there, so I did break up with her before Love Island, so it was finished.” Tayla revealed, “Obviously, there were more reasons as to why we broke up than just a rumoured girlfriend,” in an interview with WHO. There were very obvious indications that they were still speaking, and I decided I would not be the other girl. At the end of the day, it was all the lies that affected me.
“I’d ask him, ‘Have you spoken to her?’ and he’d say, ‘No,’ but there were text messages proving that he was,” she continued. He’d show it to me on his phone. Stories weren’t making sense because there was one thing after another. I listened to what my instinct was urging me to do—get out. I was aware that I had to flee. Fans reacted negatively to this information and even begged Grant to return the funds to Tayla, but he refused. Grant released a series of videos on his Instagram urging Tayla to take him back after the breakup. However, the damage had already been done, and Tayla’s choice was obvious.

The two have been dating ever since Grant declared on social media a few weeks after the breakup that he and Lucy have restarted their romance. Additionally, they are parents to a son named Levi and a girl named Charli. Tayla ended the relationship as well and briefly dated Dom Thomas, another Islander, before moving on. Later, she began dating AFL star Nathan Broad, with whom she later got married on October 17, 2022. On August 12, 2023, they took a new step in their love by becoming parents to a sweet baby girl they called Samara.
