Bruce Miller responded, “Well, I’m working on The Testaments while I’m working on Season 6 of The Handmaid’s Tale. I’m asked about how they plan to wind up their story. It’s wonderful to have another book available. The TV show’s viewers must, in my opinion, be at ease with the knowledge that The Testaments is a prequel to it, much as The Handmaid’s Tale did not follow the novel. I’ve been viewing the show as a narrative of a different period in June’s life than the one in which she would identify as a handmaid.
