The Ice Cream Canteen Shark Tank Update: Where Are They Now?

Jordan Stern, a businessman and ardent traveller, was rather dismayed to learn that it was impossible to keep ice cream cold while travelling for an extended period of time. He thought a thermos could do the opposite for cold stuff, though, since it could keep something hot for hours. That’s when he applied his intellect to the situation and came up with The Ice Cream Canteen. The popularity of The Ice Cream Canteen soared following its debut, but more people started buying it after Jordan advertised it on “Shark Tank” episode 15 of season 14. Let’s examine the product and chart the company’s development, shall we?

The Ice Cream Canteen: Who Are They and What Do They Do?

The Ice Cream Canteen’s creator, Jordan Stern, received his degree from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2012. Yet, rather than following a conventional professional career, he followed his passion for travel. Jordan was so inspired by his loved ones to buy a camper van that would serve as his residence for the ensuing few years. He then drove around the country in the van, never staying in one spot for an extended period of time.

Jordan immediately realised there was no way to retain ice cream, despite the fact that there are simple options for keeping perishables and hot things while travelling. Jordan adored eating ice cream occasionally because he was such a huge fan. Yet because he was always on the go, he couldn’t be sure when he would get the opportunity to buy some.

Jordan came to the realisation that the technology, a thermos used to store hot drinks and food, could be transformed into a useful method to keep things frozen for a protracted period of time. He went back to the drawing board after that, determined to find a solution, and eventually thought of The Ice Cream Canteen. The Ice Cream Canteen is essentially a fashionable vacuum-insulated container that can maintain ice cream’s frozen state for several hours. Additionally, it has an insulated cover and an air-tight seal that keep the contents secure and safe.

Jordan said that although the container is made to hold pints up to 16 ounces, ice cream may also be scooped directly into The Ice Cream Canteen to maintain its frozen state. The business owner added that the body is coated with a no-slip grip, which makes transporting simpler.

Where Is The Ice Cream Canteen Now?

Jordan Stern came up with the concept for The Ice Cream Canteen while travelling in 2017, but he didn’t officially launch his business until December 2018. It also took the team two full years of research and development to produce the initial edition. Even then, Jordan iterated on the product again until it was ideal from every viewpoint. Jordan started a Kickstarter campaign in 2019 and raised $121,218 as an initial investment while the research was ongoing.

Because to the assistance of this funding, the company was able to deliver its first batch to early backers by August 2020. Interestingly, The Ice Cream Canteen was widely praised soon after its introduction, and Jordan quickly cultivated a devoted clientele. In addition, he even takes delight in the fact that his company is fully certified as climate neutral.

The Ice Cream Canteen is now available in three colours: Stainless Steel, Coconut White, and Mint Green, and costs $44.99. The product is available on both the company’s official website and the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon. In addition, the business allows total personalization on all of its canteens and has even teamed up with a few ice cream parlours across the country. Jordan’s quick ascent to the top is incredibly encouraging, and we wish him luck in all of his future pursuits.
