Why did TikTok star Tierra Allen get arrested in Dubai?
According to Detained in Dubai, Tierra Allen, a former truck driver turned TikTok influencer, and a buddy were driving while on vacation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, when their rented car was involved in an accident. Fortunately, neither of them were wounded in the collision; however, the automobile was seized, and the TikTok celebrity’s personal belongings were taken away.
Allen asserted that she went to get her stuff the very following day, and that the manager’s unpleasant and antagonistic behaviour caused the incident to spiral out of control. The manager soon followed Tierra out of the building, and she ordered him to stop.
The manager then contacted the police and reported that the woman was shouting. Tierra admitted as much in a CNN interview, “I was so afraid. I’m shocked that he made me feel afraid, that I asked him to stop, and that now the cops have informed me I can’t go home.
“I told them I had a medical emergency and needed to return to the US, but they wouldn’t let me,” the woman continued. Now that I know, I may be detained by the police for months while they determine whether to file charges against me, and if they do, I may end myself in jail.
Here’s all you need to know about Tierra Allen’s ongoing situation in Dubai
Radha Stirling, the CEO of Detained in Dubai, is now helping Tierra Allen. On Sunday morning, Radha posted on Twitter regarding Tierra’s current circumstance in Dubai.
“San Diego woman detained in #Dubai for “shouting” after being threatened by a rental car agent who would not return her belongings,” wrote Stirling in a tweet. She was involved in a car accident as a passenger, and now she may go to jail. Rental automobile companies frequently engage in extortion.
In the tweet, Radha also made reference to the fact that vehicle agencies frequently look for those they perceive to be “wealthy foreigners” in order to pressure them into paying cash to settle a case and avoid going to jail.
Tierra in this situation might be one of the affluent foreigners who are the focus of an extortion attempt. The hope, according to Stirling, is that whoever they believe to be a “wealthy foreigner” will hand them money in exchange for dropping the case. She said that many agencies engage in these activities as a source of revenue.
