Hugh Jackman and Margot Robbie are just two examples of the Aussie talent that Hollywood has never been afraid to embrace. Australian-developed ventures have been genuinely embraced in the last ten years, particularly in television. The Netflix revival of Heartbreak High and the prison drama Wentworth have consistently dominated international television. The most recent episodes of the Australian comedies Class of ’07 and Wellmania were only released this year.
This month marks the debut of another outstanding Australian programme starring Thomasin McKenzie, titled Totally Perfectly Fine (Jojo Rabbit). The comedy-drama was produced in August 2022 in Sydney as part of a collaboration between the Australian streaming provider Stan and Sundance Now. It was written by Gretel Vella (A Sunburnt Christmas). The show’s international distribution was secured via the AMC network through its AMC+ and Sundance Now channels, with Fremantle Australia serving as the producing company.

Watch the Trailer for Totally Completely Fine
The trailer was first made available on 29 March via the Australian streaming service Stan. The trailer begins with the wild child antics of party girl and vaper Vivian Cunningham (Thomasin McKenzie). She unexpectedly inherits her grandfather’s seaside mansion after finding out about his passing. Vivian discovers after moving in that she also took on a new duty that belonged to her grandpa. The building is close to a cliff edge where some people have attempted suicide. Vivian reflects about her problems with life and family and how she may improve herself as a result of her new goal. When Vivian is thrust into the difficult situation of having to calm down her first disturbed person, a bride, her jaded comforting strategy somehow succeeds.
What is the Plot of Totally Completely Fine?
Considering the subject of the programme, it tackles the common struggle with mental health and the ways in which we cover up our inner conflicts by claiming to be “absolutely [or] fully fine.” Even worse, as exemplified by the show’s lead character Vivian, disturbed people frequently use substances like alcohol or continual socialising through partying as coping techniques or means of avoiding their troubles. Her character is already exhibiting self-destructive behaviours before being reunited with her family after the passing of her grandfather. As Vivian inherits his cliffside beach property, she is brutally forced to reevaluate her lifestyle and decisions when she comes across individuals who are there for different reasons.
With her life in a tailspin, stressful family dynamics, and unresolved grief over her grandfather, Vivian is dealing with a precarious cocktail of issues that could indicate melancholy and anxiety. But, the fact that these particular problems are nearly universal and have the power to bring us together and provide us with solutions says a lot. It shows how everybody can have their own personal demons and that it’s important to reach out and be nice as Vivian learns to talk down the troubled people who near the edge of the cliff.
Episode Schedule of Totally Completely Fine
Twenty-something Life for Vivian is in a tailspin. She lacks the money to pay her bills, lives in a run-down flat, and prefers drink over her own company. She unintentionally burned down her brother’s food truck last week, and this week she inherited her grandfather’s cliff-side home. Vivian soon discovers that the coastal shack she inherited is more than simply a house; her grandfather once attempted to save every lost soul that came through. Strangely enough, they are reacting to Vivian’s disorganised, nihilistic style of psychology as she starts to coax folks off the ledge. Perhaps, just perhaps, in saving these others, she will begin to slowly save herself as well?
