Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ Is Now Officially Their 3rd Most Popular English Series

Today, Netflix confirmed that Wednesday rose to the position of third-most watched English-language show in the company’s history. Given that Season 1 of the show only has eight episodes, each of which is less than an hour long, the series’ cumulative viewing time since its November 23 premiere is already staggering at 752.52 million hours.

Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as the title character, gives the famous Charles Addams franchise a fresh look by severing Wednesday from her family. Wednesday also charmed viewers all around the world with its scary and whimsical style, a gift from Tim Burton, who helmed the first four episodes of the series. Wednesday combined the murder mystery tradition with high school drama. The Addams Family universe is further expanded in Wednesday by showing how many more outcasts are attempting to endure discrimination and persecution. In summary, the show is original and entertaining, and because of a great cast, we couldn’t take our eyes off the screen the entire season.

The first season of Wednesday is now just behind DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Stranger Things 4. The fact that Stranger Things is one of the most watched original Netflix series and one of the programmes that contributed to the streaming service growing into the titan it is today is fantastic news for fans. Regarding DAHMER, the show’s phenomenal success prompted Netflix to purchase two more episodes. Since there is currently no official word, it is most likely that Wednesday will receive a second season. Until we receive formal word on Season 2 on Wednesday, we’ll be twitching our fingers with anticipation.
