At the time, Pollex told USA TODAY Sports, “We lived our life in fourth gear all the time.” “We were always on the move. I travelled constantly with Martin while operating my own company and his foundation. I didn’t stop. The biggest adjustment for me has been learning to live in first gear, adjust to a new normal, and realise that my body can no longer function that way. Martin also described how the diagnosis really rocked him.
I was initially shocked. I believed I was dreaming… It quickly puts things into perspective. In addition to his prior statement about how the diagnosis had changed things, Martin admitted, “All this stuff I’ve been upset about previously and felt was a big issue, it’s nothing. “The experience has been exhilarating. It varies every day. You experience a range of emotions, from sadness to rage and why the hell are we here? But in the end, those of us who have experienced cancer are no different from anyone else.
In 2021, Sherry’s cancer unfortunately returned. She and Martin, however, refused to allow it all get to them and instead grew more determined in their charitable endeavours. They had already established the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, a charity that supports young patients with paediatric cancer. But after receiving her devastating illness, Sherry started SherryStrong.org.
Are Martin Truex and Sherry Pollex Still Together?
Martin and Sherry announced their separation in January 2023. He insisted that the decision to separate was mutual, but he was adamant that he would still support his now-ex and be there for her in times of need. However, he did not go into detail as to why this action was taken, and Martin asked for solitude so that they could get over the breakup of a nearly 17-year partnership.

Martin and Sherry appear to get along well despite the fact that they haven’t publicly disclosed the grounds for their breakup. The two continue to put on a united face when it comes to their charitable activities; in fact, the latter still holds her position as the Vice-President of the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation.
