Carnival Row Season 2: Things To Know Before Watching The New Season Of Carnival Row

  • DCS

You must have been waiting for it, I know. I’ve got to. Let’s all shout it at once: Where the hell is Season 2 of Carnival Row?

The popular series about magical beings residing in a dystopian human civilization debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2019 and has had viewers waiting for any form of update ever since. There hasn’t been much information released about the second season, but we do know six quick items that we can share with you right away.

Carnival Row Season 2 Does Not Have A Release Date – But Will Come Out In 2022

We’re all hoping that Carnival Row Season 2 will debut in time for the 2022 television schedule, and it appears that it will! While a specific release date for Carnival Row on the well-liked streaming service hasn’t been announced, Deadline did confirm that Season 2 of Carnival Row would be available on Amazon Prime Video at some point this year.

Even if this isn’t a confirmation of the actual release date for the programme, it’s at least a significant improvement after such a protracted wait. We’re hoping it won’t be too long before we get to see our favourite, charming fairytale characters hook up with investigators once more.

Carnival Row Season 2 Has Wrapped Production

You may be wondering if Carnival Row’s Season 2 production has come to an end. Thankfully, I can inform you that it has. Production on Season 2 of Carnival Row had previously been announced to have begun in 2019, but as was to be expected, this was put on hold when the COVID-19 epidemic started.

Nevertheless, filming did finally start up again in the second part of 2021, and on September 16, 2021, Carnival Row Season 2 production came to an end. We were all able to celebrate the show’s official final day of production by viewing some behind-the-scenes photos of the cast on the show’s official Twitter feed.

I’m not shocked that it has taken so long for the show to launch even though the show’s production has been over for a while. Be patient; it takes a lot of work to apply all of those extra effects and make those fae wings look as lifelike as possible. Hopefully, a trailer will be released soon enough!

Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne And More Are Expected To Return

Although the Carnival Row Season 2 cast has not yet been officially announced, we can at least assume that Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, who play Rycroft Philostrate and Vignette Stonemoss, respectively, will be back for the next instalment of the neo-noir fantasy story given that they were both visible in the behind-the-scenes images from the aforementioned official tweet.

Simon McBurney, David Gyasi, Tamzin Merchant, Andrew Gower, Karla Crome, Arty Froushan, and Caroline Ford are additional actors that are anticipated to make a comeback. No one has disputed their involvement, but since nothing has been verified and there isn’t a trailer yet, we can at least hope they all return for Season 2.

Jamie Harris Has Been Promoted To Series Regular in Season 2

However, one cast member will undoubtedly return because he has been given a promotion for Carnival Row’s Season 2. According to Deadline, the actor who portrays Sergeant Dombey, Jamie Harris, has been promoted to series regular.

As a police officer who disliked the fact that fairies and pix were continuously entering the city he loves and causing mayhem for everyone who crossed him, Dombey was undoubtedly a key figure in Season 1 of Carnival Row. It will be intriguing to watch where Carnival Row takes him in season two and what might happen to his character after that.

The Plot Of Carnival Row Season 2 Is Unknown

As was to be expected, we don’t know a much about Carnival Row Season 2, but there are a lot of clues as to what we think might happen after the season finale.

One of the major implications from the Carnival Row Season 1 finale is that the government is developing a new segregation strategy to properly divide magical beings and common humans. In order for them to genuinely be together, Philo made the decision to flee with Vignette, which will undoubtedly play a significant role in the following season.

Agreus and Imogen’s (David Gyasi and Tamzin Merchant) narrative, who sailed off together to spend their lives in a better location but were required to return, is another one that I’m sure we’ll be revisiting. But they declined. As long as there is political struggle between humans and mythical animals, these two love stories will undoubtedly be developed.

Carnival Row Season 2 Will Have A New Showrunner

Another brand-new piece of information for fans of the fantasy programme is that a brand-new showrunner will be in charge of Carnival Row Season 2. Erik Oleson, who formerly served as showrunner alongside Marc Guggenheim and Travis Beacham, has taken over, according to Deadline.

Although it is unsettling to watch a new individual take charge of such a vast universe with exotic animals and intricate plots, I have entire faith in Oleson to give Carnival Row credit. Erik Oleson has previously contributed to a number of high-profile programmes, including the popular Marvel series Daredevil, which recently synchronised with the MCU. I have a sense that Carnival Row is in good hands because he has also worked on shows like Unforgettable, Arrow, and others.

While there isn’t any Season 2 footage available as of the time of writing, I’m confident it won’t be long before we get to witness this fantastical world once more. We need to wait and practise patience. Check out Carnival Row on Amazon Prime in the interim if you wish to rewatch the series, as I have.
