22 Iconic Bollywood Movies That Were Actually Rejected By These Actors! – No.14 Was The Biggest Mistake

Well, it’s no harm in admitting to a mistake especially if it was destined to fail. But in the tinsel town, there is no scope for such mistakes. You never know which role rejection could turn out to be the biggest mistake of your time. So here are some of the most iconic Bollywood movies that these actors should have never rejected:

1. Shatrughan Sinha – Sholay

Even though the movie was not a major hit back when it released, it is now considered a classic cult movie. Shatrughan Sinha shouldn’t have been Khamosh on this role for sure.

2. Juhi Chawla – Dil To Pagal Hai

We have seen her quirkiness in Kurkure ads and her chemistry with SRK in Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, but somehow we still can’t imagine her in the place of Karishma Kapoor.

3. Aishwarya Rai – Dostana, Raja Hindustani , Corporate and Kuch Kuch Hota hai

Imagine, Abhishek and Aishwarya as just friends or rather room-mates, with Aishwarya styling up as a diva or as the Desi girl. Hard to capture that image right?

She decided to focus more on the Miss World competition and had not decided on joining the film industry, so the movie went to Karishma. And boy did it do wonders for her!

One of Bipasha’s most successful roles in Bollywood was corporate. However, this role was meant to have Aishwarya Rai playing it.

Ok, the role of Tina went to nine different actresses before Rani was given the role. Aishwarya was one of the many to turn it down.

4. Katrina Kaif – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express

The movie would have been quite a kick starter for the couple had Katrina not said no to the role. We could have seen a different kind of Katrina as well.

Katrina speaking Tamil or Hindi with a Tamilian accent would have definitely been an added benefit to the comedy flick Chennai Express.

5. Dev Anand – Zanjeer

Not the new Zanjeer, but the original Zanjeer movie starring Amitabh was primarily assigned to Dev Anand

This must have hurt Akshay real bad. Whatever made him refuse this one and say yes to movies like Kambakkth Ishq and Tees Maar Khan.

8. Kajol – ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Veer-Zara’, ‘Mohabbatein

The epic romantic love story spanning two bordering nations was a major movie. But instead of a cute and bubbly Preity, it was supposed to the sophisticated Kajol.

9.Hrithik Roshan turned down the role of Akash in Dil Chahta hai

The role of Akash Mehra was originally written for Hrithik Roshan. The role was grabbed by Aamir Khan and that is how Hrithik missed being part of another iconic movie.

10. Salman Khan – Baazigar and Chak de India

The epic movie of SRK which is still a classic revenge tale wouldn’t be in his list, had it not been for Salman Khan’s rejection.

11. Kareena Kapoor – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

The movie that became popular for so many reasons was supposed to have Kareena in the lead. That would have been not just a break but the perfect debut had Kareena chosen it.
