Samantha’s awareness that she is locked in a time loop is followed by her acceptance of the circumstance, similar to Mark and Margaret in ‘The Map of Tiny Perfect Things.’ In ‘Before I Fall,’ however, events within the time loop alter, and Samantha meets people who aren’t her friends from her previous existence. The film earned mixed reviews from critics despite strong performances from the main characters.

Autumn Reeser, Ali Liebert, and Shawn Roberts star in the fantasy romance comedy directed by Ron Oliver and written by Nancey Silvers. Jaclyn is compelled to experience one single day in her life over and over again, just like Mark and Margaret in ‘The Map of Tiny Perfect Things,’ and this day is her tragic wedding day. The cycle will continue to afflict her until she discovers what she truly desires in life.
If Only (2004)
The romantic fantasy film directed by Gil Junger about Ian Wyndham (Paul Nicholls), an English businessman who lives in London with his American musician girlfriend Samantha Andrews (Jennifer Love Hewitt). ‘If Only’ and ‘The Map of Tiny Perfect Things’ both have a time loop with a love theme. Samantha is killed in a car accident after a lover’s spat. Ian goes to their shared apartment, dejected, only to hear Sam’s voice. Ian comes to the conclusion that the previous day’s events were a dream. As the story progresses, Ian knows that the “dream” scenario will be repeated, and Sam will die by the end of the day. Ian then embarks on a mission to avert the terrible death of his lover.
Palm Springs (2020)
‘Palm Springs’ is a science fiction romantic comedy that comes closest to ‘The Map of Tiny Perfect Things’ on this list. There is a time loop, two strangers-turned-friends (in both films) are locked in the time loop, and the huge question of how to break the loop looms large.
Andy Samberg’s Nyles and Cristin Milioti’s Sarah Wilder meet at a wedding of a mutual acquaintance in ‘Palm Springs.’ Sarah and Nyles are both trapped in a time loop after an incident involving a cave. The two face a number of challenges as they try to figure out their situation. The cast gives outstanding performances, and the material is delivered in a comic manner, making the film a joy to watch.
The Butterfly Effect (2004)
