For people who like survival shows, Netflix is making a new one that will be right for you. The trailer for the upcoming reality show Outlast, in which 16 people try to stay alive in the Alaskan wilderness, has been released by the streaming service.
If they win, they will get $1 million in prize money. But there is a catch: to win the competition, the participants must work as a team and can’t do it on their own. Read on to see the show’s trailer and learn more about it.
Outlast Trailer: 16 Contestants’ Survival Skills Put to Test
The trailer shows how hard the people who are left in the Alaskan wilderness will have to work to survive. The contestants will have to deal with everything, from bad weather to severe hunger. The rule says, “You have to work together to survive, or you’ll go home with nothing.”
Then we see people work together against each other. A contestant says, “I’m tired, I’m cold, I’m wet, and I’m hungry.” A woman can also be heard saying, “Nothing will be perfect. I can’t make it without you.” “If they had the chance, they would cut our throats,” says another contestant.
Some people are also seen shooting flares, which could mean they are giving up on the game. The first episode of Outlast will air on Netflix on March 10. The show will have eight episodes that are each about 45 minutes long. All eight episodes will be released at the same time. Watch the trailer down below.
The Winner will Take Home $1 Million
For the competition, “16 lone wolves” will be split into four groups and sent into the Alaskan wilderness. Things would be harder because the game takes place in the Fall, when the weather is cold and there is a good chance of rain in the area.
The camps for the four teams will be set up in different places, and the team members will have to work together if they want to win the $1 million prize. They can also switch teams at any time, which will lead to a lot of betrayals, some strange alliances, and a constantly changing set of relationships.
The show’s slogan says that the enemy is not nature, but rather people. The official summary says, “A raw survival competition series in which 16 lone wolves try to outlast each other in the Alaskan wilderness to win $1 million.” In this tough game, there is only one rule: to win, they must be on a team.
Amber Asay, Andrea Hilderbrand, Angie Esparza, Brian Kahrs, Corey Johnson, Dawn Nelson, Javier Colon, Jill Ashock, Joel Hungate, Jordan Williams, Justin Court, Lee Ettinger, Nick Radner, Paul Preece, Seth Lueker, and Timothy Spears are among the 16 contestants.
The show was made by Aggregate Films, which is run by Jason Bateman, and Nomad Entertainment. Emma Ho, Mike Odair, Jason Bateman, Grant Kahler, and Michael Costigan are the top producers.
