Romance is perhaps the most prominent genre in popular culture, and it has given the world some of the most impactful and poignant stories. With the advancement of anime as an art form, the fandom has been blessed with some of the best series and films. While there are a plethora of well-known romance anime to choose from, here is a list of series available on Netflix. It includes a wide range of romantic flicks, including love stories, sad romantic anime, romantic comedies, and sorrowful anime. If the premise of any of these appeals to you, we’ve included a link to these shows at the bottom of the page.
A Silent Voice (2016)
Shouda Ishida, along with a handful of his classmates, attempts to avoid boredom by abusing a new deaf transfer student at their elementary school. When Shouda’s mother observes this and reports it to the school, all of Shouda’s friends single him out, and he is forced to deal with the consequences on his own. He ultimately chooses to redeem himself by confronting his history after years of being shunned by his professors and peers. The following is the narrative of a little kid who goes on a search for the girl he previously thoughtlessly bullied and seeks to make atonement.
‘A Silent Voice’ mostly concentrates on other themes such as “redemption” and “not judging others,” with a smidgeon of romance thrown in for good measure. The relationship between the two major characters may have been explored more in the film, but it was never really about that. It’s important to love oneself first in every romantic relationship, and that’s essentially what this anime is about. The movie can be seen here.
Beastars (2019 – )
‘Beasters’ is a slice-of-life psychological drama anime about carnivores and herbivores in a civilized community of anthropomorphic creatures. While the series is full with intrigue and drama, it also focuses on the protagonist’s predatory inclinations and romantic feelings for a friend. As a result, ‘Beasters’ provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to examine romantic relationships from a hitherto untapped angle. Here you may see all of the episodes of the show in its entirety.
Bleach (2004-2012)
When it comes to the anime, ‘Bleach’ concluded long before the manga, which is one of the reasons why various romantic connections are hinted at but never fully developed in the program. The manga’s final chapter reveals that Ichigo and Orihime have settled down and are happily married with a child. Even Rukia and Renji’s connection, which was hotly contested among die-hard fans of the series, was put to rest in the manga. They are married and have a child named Ichika together. Aside from this, there are a couple of other relationships that had some modest progressions for a while but were lost in the overarching shounen-centric tale. The series is available to watch online.
InuYasha (2000-2004)
‘Inuyasha’ will go down in anime history as one of the best depictions of interspecies interactions. It is based on an award-winning manga and follows Kagome Higurashi, a teenage schoolgirl who is dragged into a well by a demon and finds herself in a very different version of the Sengoku period. She quickly realizes that she is the possessor of a sacred jewel that everyone in her new world is attempting to locate. The jewel is fractured into many distinct parts during a confrontation with a demonic entity, and it spreads over the mythical kingdoms of ancient Japan. To ensure that the jewel does not fall into the wrong hands, she embarks on a quest with Inuyasha, a fox-demon, to locate all of the missing pieces.
Because of its depiction of a very realistic love tale, ‘Inuyasha’ is one anime that has stood the test of time. Instead of focusing primarily on the romantic aspects of a relationship, it demonstrates how relationships frequently have issues that must be addressed. It also introduces a convoluted triangle in which the titular character must make a key decision, which adds to the intrigue. The series is available to watch online.
‘Naruto’ is the type of anime that grows on you over time, and even if it is typical in every manner, there is no turning back once you’ve become addicted to this classic shounen. Naruto Uzumaki, the titular character, is a mischievous teenage ninja who is struggling to realize his aspirations of becoming the Hokage of his village. In the realm of ‘Naruto’ fandom, a phrase known as “NaruHina” is used to allude to Naruto and Hinata’s relationship. Hinata began the story as a modest girl who would watch Naruto from afar, but she finally became the love of his life, much to everyone’s astonishment. Her feelings for him had always been so pure that she had never been infatuated with him; instead, she was pulled to his dedication to his training and aspirations. Finally, in the new anime series ‘Boruto,’ we see them married with their own child. The animation can be viewed here.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995-1996)
If you’ve been watching anime for a while, you’re definitely familiar with ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion.’ It begins as a traditional Mecha drama about “saving the world,” but by the second half, it has entirely transformed and evolved into a psychological drama full of conspiracies and deep themes. Simply put, ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ is a masterpiece that will most likely hold that title for a long time. When it comes to romance, the anime depicts occasions where Shinji, the main character, appears to develop feelings for each of the three female protagonists at different times. He and Asuka have a romantic relationship in which he constantly embarrasses himself around her because he likes her, while Asuka teases him to disguise the fact that she is truly into him. Aside from that, there are also sweet love scenes between Misato and Kaji, who have been dating for a long time. All of the episodes are available to watch online.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (2014)
Although this list is in no particular order, I chose to reserve the finest for last because it is so well-known that every romantic anime lover has already watched it. If you haven’t already seen it, I strongly advise you to do so. It is one of the most popular romance anime series. They don’t produce them like that any longer. Kousei Arima had to deal with the tragedy of his mother’s death. He can’t seem to hear the sound of his piano after the incident, despite the fact that he is a prodigy at playing the piano. So he abandons it entirely, until he meets Kaori Miyazono, a talented violinist. She starts to open him up and pull him out of his shell, and Kousei resumes his piano playing. It’s a fantastic animation that takes you on an emotional roller coaster. It’s a great show.

When he logs in, however, he and many other players are unable to log out and are forced to stay in the game until they have completed 100 levels.
The game’s designer appears to have ensnared the gamers. Now he must explore Aincrad’s world, which appears to be set in a medieval era equipped with fantasy weaponry and monsters. He must stay alive as long as possible in this game, since if you die in the game, you die in real life. The series is available to watch online.
The Seven Deadly Sins (2014-2021)
For the most part, ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ is a fantasy shounen series about a group of heroes known as “the Sins.” Aside from the action, the anime is noted for its complex characters and their relationships. Ban, who is one of the seven deadly sins, and Elaine had a remarkable connection that is depicted in the anime. After spending a week together in the Fairy King’s Forest, Ban and Elaine fall in love with each other. Elaine is unfortunately killed by a Demon and is cut off from Ban’s realm. Even yet, he can’t help but love her, and he assures himself that he’ll see her again. Following her death, he becomes terribly despondent and even loses his sense of purpose in life. When he is urged to trade the life of his own buddy, Meliodas, for her resurrection, he chooses her without hesitation. While Ban and Elaine’s romance ends on a happy note, the anime has recently hinted at another love relationship between Maliodas and Elizabeth. The show can be viewed here.
