Early in December, there were first whispers of a The Holiday sequel. The Sun claimed that filming would resume in the United States and the United Kingdom in 2023 and that the main ensemble cast had all agreed to return. This set the rumour mills going and raised the possibility of a sequel movie.
Unfortunately, a number of well-known characters from the original movie quickly refuted the reports. In an interview with People to promote Avatar: The Way of Water, Kate Winslet also addressed the claims. “The Oscar winner admitted, “I read something about that, but this is the first I’ve heard of it. I swear I haven’t spoken with any agents, representatives, or anyone else from the beginning about it. I can honestly say that has never happened.”
Unfortunately, it appears that The Holiday won’t be receiving a reboot or sequel anytime soon, despite the fact that Hollywood seems to be flooded with them these days.
