‘The Usual Suspects,’ ‘Traffic,’ ’21 Grams,’ ‘Snatch,’ ‘Sin City,’ ‘Che,’ ‘Escobar: Paradise Lost,’ and ‘Sicario’ are just a few of the films that Benicio Del Toro has starred in and are consequently among his best work. Del Toro’s performances have mesmerized audiences for more than three decades and have garnered him numerous accolades and nominations, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Silver Bear, Cannes Film Festival Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Sundance Film Festival Awards, and Venice Film Festival Awards.
Third Puerto Rican actor and fourth live actor to receive an Oscar for non-English speaking roles is Benicio del Toro. His followers eagerly await his forthcoming ventures because of his powerful acting abilities, which transcend any success. We have you covered if you fall under this category.
The saying goes, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” The Netflix neo-noir crime film “Reptile,” which features Benicio Del Toro as a seasoned homicide detective from New England, provides proof that the saying is true. When a case involving a terrible murder is sent to him for investigation, he must dig deep to identify the real perpetrator, especially since the victim’s lover is the main suspect and doesn’t appear like the kind who would be able to do murder. Nevertheless, it appears that he is somehow connected, along with the victim’s ex-husband, a friend, and a strange stranger. There are many secrets; it is up to Nichols and his team to uncover the underlying reality.
Grant Singer, who has previously directed a number of music videos for artists like Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, and The Weeknd, among others, is making his feature picture directorial debut with this film. Along with Michael Pitt, Domenick Lombardozzi, Frances Fisher, Ato Essandoh, Mike Pniewski, Eric Bogosian, Sky Ferreira, and Owen Teague, Justin Timberlake plays Will Grady, the murder victim’s boyfriend and the main suspect in the film, and Alicia Silverstone plays Tom Nichols’ wife, Judy. Singer co-wrote the story with Benicio Del Toro, Benjamin Brewer, and him for the first time; he also served as executive producer. On October 6, 2023, Netflix will distribute the film. Sicario 3 (TBA)
Yes, it is taking place! The ‘Sicario’ franchise’s third edition is now under development, according to producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. The SAG-AFTRA strike has put a stop to the writing, though. Iwanyk said of the third installment in a conversation with The Messenger, “I can’t wait for Sicario 3.” For hours, I could watch Benicio [Del Toro] portray that character. Although I can watch Benicio in anything, watching him play that role never gets old. The two films, starring Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro as CIA agents, examine problems at the US-Mexico border from both the microcosmic and macrocosmic perspectives.
There are currently no narrative updates, although the movie may simply take up where “Sicario: Day Of The Soldado” left off, with Del Toro’s Alejandro surviving despite being severely shot. Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin are also likely to make a comeback. We anticipate further updates.
White Lies (TBA)
We already know that Del Toro is no stranger to developing complex characters. As a child of divorce who treats his son the same way he was treated—or rather mistreated—by his parents, he is moving closer to that goal with “White Lies.” In the end, his sense of imprisonment forces him to depart on a lustful quest, which only deepens his sensation of being lost. Only after meeting a woman who leads a different lifestyle from his own does he feel the spark of rediscovery. Oliver Stone, who is known for films like “Platoon,” “Born on the Fourth of July,” and “Snowden,” wrote and directed the film. Other than this, there are no other significant updates that are known to us and are therefore awaited.
