The destiny of Black Summer has been awaited by fans for months. The post-apocalyptic thriller on Netflix, which was produced by John Hyams and Karl Schaefer, centers on a group of strangers trying to escape a zombie outbreak. It is a spin-off of the Syfy horror series Z Nation and stars Jaime King, Justin Chu Cary, Christine Lee, and Zoe Marlette.
Viewers are eager to find out what happens next after a cliffhanger. Unfortunately, there haven’t been many updates lately, although it appears that Black Summer Season 3 will soon be announced.
The purported Instagram page for the show posted a message about ‘Black Summer’ Season 3
An announcement on the third season of Black Summer is allegedly “coming” shortly, according to the show’s claimed Instagram page. A few weeks ago, a fan requested an update on Black Summer Season 3, and the reply was sent in response. On Reddit, a screenshot of the exchange was posted, however it’s crucial to remember that the account is unconfirmed. When Showbiz Cheat Sheet contacted Netflix for a response regarding the veracity of the page, they did not receive one right away.
However, given that the most recent season was almost a year ago, it seems safe to believe that an upgrade is indeed in the works. Many people have seen the delay as a terrible omen for the show’s future. Few people are aware that Black Summer Season 2 actually took two years to complete. Perhaps that holds true this time as well.
Where the show left off
Black Summer’s most recent season, which debuted in June 2021, focused on the protagonists facing fresh difficulties as winter approached.
According to King (Rose), “the first season was very much about a mother attempting to find her daughter.” This season explores how she manages to hold on to her daughter and keep her alive given that time has gone and things have gotten significantly worse.
King continued, “It’s also an explanation of trauma, of what occurs in this post-apocalyptic world, and of how people react when money doesn’t matter and all that matters are commodities: food, water, and shelter. The winter, on the other hand, has this other remarkable quality.
Only a few people survived in the end, but several people’s whereabouts were unknown. In Black Summer, what happened to Rose? In Black Summer, where is Sun going? After that battle at the hangar, what became of the others? If there be a third season of Black Summer, they are the issues the program will need to address.
Jaime King shared ideas for ‘Black Summer’ Season 3
King previously discussed her own goals for the show’s third season in an interview.
King answered, “I have a few ideas. “I can’t wait to restart the writer’s room. This is the kind of show that could go on for ever, but if it were possible, I think it would be extremely powerful to finish it in three seasons.
“What happens when there are no more goods available? investigating that notion,” she added.
In a second interview with Comic Book, King expanded on his ideas.
“I’m not sure if I have permission to say this. Theoretically, I would focus on several chapters where we are investigating roughly three primary individuals in various locations. But, you know, those are just sketches,” she jested.
