1923 Season 2 (TBA)
‘1923’ is one of the two prequel programmes to ‘Yellowstone,’ a Western series that centres on the Dutton family, who run Montana’s Yellowstone ranch; the other is titled ‘1883’. The themes of family and heritage are prevalent throughout the television series set in the “Yellowstone” universe. The prequels take place throughout the corresponding eras of history. The Dutton generation is depicted in ‘1923,’ a follow-up to ‘1883’, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Ford plays Jacob Dutton on the show, who took over the ranch after its founders, James Dutton, who is Jacob’s brother, and his wife Margaret passed away.
The cast of the programme includes Helen Mirren as Cara, Jacob’s wife, Brandon Sklenar as Spencer, Jacob’s nephew Jack, Jacob’s great-nephew Jack, Julia Schlaepfer as Alexandra, Teonna Rainwater, Timothy Dalton, and others. The series’ first season made its television debut on Paramount+ in December 2022 to rave reviews. Taylor Sheridan, who previously developed “1883” and co-created “Yellowstone,” is the creator of the programme. Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the second season’s filming was postponed, and there are currently no known updates regarding its release.
Captain America: Brave New World (2024)
Ford will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we will see him in “Captain America: Brave New World” playing General Thaddeus Ross. Sam Wilson, the new Captain America played by Anthony Mackie, will make his solo debut in the film after his adventures in the Disney+ 2021 series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Ross was last seen in the 2021 film “Black Widow,” in which William Hurt portrays the role. Sadly, he passed away in March 2022, and Ford was then hired to fill the role. The figure acts as a link between the Avengers and the US Government in his capacity as US Secretary of State.
Danny Ramirez, who plays Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Carl Lumbly, who plays Isaiah Bradley, Tim Blake Nelson, who plays Samuel Sterns/Leader, Shira Haas, who plays Sabra, Liv Tyler, who plays Betty Ross, and Xosha Roquemore and Seth Rollins, who play unspecified parts, round out the rest of the cast. Julius Onah, who also directed “The Cloverfield Paradox,” and Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman wrote the Phase Five of the MCU movie. Producing the movie is Marvel Studios. The movie, which is currently under post-production, will be shown on July 26, 2024.
Shrinking Season 2 (TBA)
The comedy-drama series “Shrinking” is centred on Jimmy Laird, a therapist who, rather than analysing his patients’ problems, tells them precisely how he feels. In doing so, he also shares with them his sadness over the death of his wife. Jimmy’s senior therapist and coworker Dr. Paul Rhoades, the role played by Ford, suffers Parkinson’s disease. Paul is more of a grandfather to Jimmy’s daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell) than a father figure. Jimmy is played by Jason Segel.
Jessica Williams (Gaby), Luke Tennie (Sean), Christa Miller (Liz), and Michael Urie (Brian), among others, are also part of the cast. The Apple TV+ original was created by Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrence (also the showrunner), and Jason Segel. The popularity of Season 1 among viewers led Apple to order a second season. There is no set release date, however there is a potential that it will happen in 2024.
The Miserable Adventures of Burt Squire (TBA)
This seafarer comedy film, which goes by the alternate title “The Miserable Adventures of Burt Squire Aboard the Horn High Yo,” centres on Burt Squire, a middle-aged man who decides to take a sailing vacation on the Horn High Yo. He unfortunately meets a tragic shipwreck end. Ed Helms will portray Burt, while Ford will play the charming but disturbed sea captain. Ben Bolea wrote the screenplay, which was based on a genuine story. The project was co-produced and co-distributed by STXfilms and LD Entertainment. The movie’s most recent changes date back to 2020, and nothing has changed since then.
Thunderbolts (2024)
In “Thunderbolts,” another MCU Phase Five film, Ford’s Ross will assemble a team of villains to aid the US government in completing a task (a related concept gave rise to DC’s “Suicide Squad”). The movie’s plot is currently a secret, except from this. However, we are already familiar with the film’s baddies.
