Andi and Miles Start a Business Together
We are given the impression that Miles is a genius who invented Alpha and is now working on additional ground-breaking inventions in the first half of the movie. But as it turns out, Andi was the mastermind behind everything. In actuality, she was the one who organized the group as a whole. Long before they met Miles and their careers took a turn for the better, Duke, Claire, Birdie, and Lionel were Andi’s buddies. Andi had faith in them despite their early failures. For Miles, she followed suit.
It’s unclear how Andi first connected with Miles, but once she did, she gave him the same advice she gave to her other friends: to follow your ambitions. They all grew quite close to him after she introduced him to the group, in part because he assisted them with their personal issues. While they were all hanging out at the Glass Onion pub in the interim, Andi had the idea for Alpha. She gave Miles the concept after recording it on a napkin. They co-founded a business that made them each a billionaire.
Andi and Miles Fall Out
Because of how well-received Alpha was, Andi and Miles devised strategies for enlarging their hegemony. When Miles came up with concepts that seemed unattainable, Andi disciplined him. It is evident from the exchanges amongst several people in the movie that everyone finds Miles’ thoughts to be absurd. The investors are disputing with Lionel about how unrealistic Miles’ new proposal is in an early scene.
Andi was the only person who could tell Miles the truth, in contrast to everyone else. She was aware of when he was building imaginary fortresses and didn’t think twice to confront him with the truth. Andi informed Miles that the Klear concept would not work as soon as it was brought up. She carefully considered how the entire scheme would go horribly wrong and bluntly informed her spouse that investing in such a thing wouldn’t be beneficial for them, especially because Miles was prepared to put all they owned into it.
Andi threatened to leave the company and take half of it with her if Miles didn’t give in. With no money to launch his new project as a result—and knowing that Andi was the idea behind it all—Miles would quickly go bankrupt. He therefore devised a legal strategy via which he entirely forced Andi out of the business, leaving her with nothing. She responded by suing him because it was her idea that had originally founded the business. Intellectual property was at issue, and Andi insisted that she had shared the idea with Miles and written it all down on a napkin.
Miles Kills Andi
Andi only erred in one way—she failed to save the napkin. Or, at the very least, she couldn’t recall where she had kept it. Miles responded by saying he was the one who had thought up the idea. He forced Claire, Birdie, and Duke to lie for him as an excuse. When he supported Claire’s campaign and helped Birdie and Duke launch their independent ventures, he had already purchased them with his own money. They all stood forward to formally acknowledge that Alpha was Miles’ concept while swearing to do so. Andi consequently lost both the lawsuit and the ownership stake in her business.
Miles created his own iteration of the napkin after Andi was fired from the company. Miles constructed a story about himself that portrayed him as a genius to the outside world because Andi didn’t have the original and he had already won the lawsuit. In his interviews, he continually emphasized how he was the one who had the initial concept. But Andi eventually located the napkin once more. She had forgotten about it because it had been hidden inside one of her books.
Andi could now present Miles in court with strong evidence. Finally being able to establish Alpha’s ownership would not only help her regain control of the corporation, but would also irreparably damage Miles’ reputation. Her napkin had the Glass Onion written on it, however Miles’ didn’t because the bar had closed down shortly after Andi invented Alpha, answering the question of whether it was real or not.
Andi revealed the napkin to her companions after having concrete evidence in her possession. She all of them an email. Miles, who was at the time, unknowing to anyone, in New York for Whiskey’s birthday, received it from Lionel and transmitted it to him. He knew he was about to lose everything as soon as he learned about the original napkin, and at this point, he couldn’t afford it. In addition, he was aware that no matter how he begged or threatened Andi, he would never be able to change her decision.
Miles ultimately came to the conclusion that killing Andi was the only effective method to prevent her from telling the world the truth. He pretended to be having a discussion when he went to her residence. Andi was aware of his awful character, but she didn’t believe he was capable of murder, so she ignored his antics. In one such instance of carelessness, Miles added a sedative to Andi’s beverage. Andi choked to death after being placed inside a running automobile after he took her to the garage after she passed out.
Andi’s death wasn’t determined to be a suicide when she was discovered. No one would find it hard to believe that she had killed herself in despair given that she had just recently lost the case and the firm. Helen, her sister, though, was wiser. She instantly realized that Andi was about to make things better for herself, so she wouldn’t have committed suicide. Andi’s actions were really unusual, as well.
Helen searched for the red envelope after she discovered Andi’s email but was unable to locate it. Helen then discovered the invitation to Miles’ island in the mysterious package that he had sent. All the people to whom Andi had sent emails would be present, so she realized this was her chance to solve the murder of her sister. As a result, she went in search of Benoit Blanc, and the two of them traveled to the island to ascertain what had actually happened to Andi.
