Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller Vertigo is said to be getting a new version with Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role.
Deadline says that Paramount Pictures is planning to remake the 1958 classic. The actor Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey will produce the film through their Team Downey entertainment company.
The 57-year-old Iron Man star would play the original role played by James Stewart, and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight would write a new screenplay.
No one has yet come up with a name for the woman who would play the role that Kim Novak played before Downey.
People asked Downey and Paramount Pictures for comments on Friday, but they didn’t answer right away.

Downey will be the lead in Christopher Nolan’s new movie Oppenheimer, which comes out this summer. His last big Hollywood movie was Dolittle, which came out in 2020.
Also, he will soon be in the HBO series The Sympathizer, which is a historical drama-thriller about a man named Hoa Xuande who was a spy for Communist forces during the Vietnam War.
In the Netflix documentary “Sr.,” the actor also looked back on the life of his father, Robert Downey Sr.
