Avatar Films (2025 – 2031)
There are currently three “Avatar” sequels in production: “Avatar 3,” “Avatar 4,” and “Avatar 5.” The highly anticipated James Cameron movies’ storyline specifics are now under wraps. However, it is already known that the sci-fi series would continue the Na’vi family’s narrative. Saldana will reprise her role as Neytiri in every sequel, joining Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, and Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch in the cast.
Directly following ‘Avatar: The Way of Water,’ ‘Avatar 3’ finished filming in 2022 and is currently in post-production. The filming of “Avatar 4” and “Avatar 5”, on the other hand, had been happening concurrently but has since been put on hold as a result of the SAG-AFTRA strike. The fourth and fifth episodes are slated for release on December 21, 2029 and December 19, 2031, respectively, after the third installment, which is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025.

Saldana both stars in and produces the film “Dominion,” which tells the tale of a lady who is both human and an angel. Robbie Brenner (‘Barbie’ and ‘A Perfect Getaway’), who also serves as co-producer on the thriller film penned by Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings, first announced it in 2011. However, there hasn’t been any current progress on the project, thus the movie has presumably been put on hold.

Along with Selena Gomez, Saldana stars in an unspecified character in the film, while the cartel head is portrayed by Spanish trans performer Karla Sofia Gascón. French director Jacques Audiard, best known for “The Sisters Brothers” and “Paris, 13th District,” is in charge of the musical picture. Although an official release date has not been set, the movie is now under post-production and is anticipated to make its debut in 2024.

Since then, there haven’t been any further developments about the film’s production.
The Absence of Eden (TBA)
In “The Absence of Eden,” it is shown how an ICE agent and an undocumented immigrant woman work together to rescue the life of a young girl while juggling their own problems. Marco Perego Saldana, Saldana’s husband, directed the drama movie. In an interview with Variety, the actress discussed what it was like to portray an immigrant woman and revealed, “My family is from the Caribbean. Therefore, our wave of immigration originated from the Atlantic and the east coast of the United States.
“The experience was unique. For political reasons, my grandmother emigrated. More Dominicans were given visas soon after Rafael Trujillo was killed in the Dominican Republic. She came in 1961. In my life, discussing immigration has always been a universal topic, Saldana continued. In June 2023, the movie had its world premiere at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy. However, no date for its theatrical debut has been made public as of yet.
The Bluff (TBA)
Saldana is expected to play the lead role in the survival movie “The Bluff,” which centres on a Caribbean woman who must defend her family while coping with her dark secrets when her island is overrun by pirates. Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously worked with the actress on “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” are co-producing the action movie. The movie is being directed by Frank E. Flowers, who previously worked with Saldana on the 2004 murder drama “Haven.” Amazon Prime Video will provide international distribution for the presently in development movie.
Untitled Star Trek 4 (TBA)
The working title for the fourth entry in the revived “Star Trek” series is “Star Trek 4.” The movie is a direct sequel to “Star Trek Beyond,” which came out in 2016, although the plot’s specifics have not yet been revealed. The science fiction movie has experienced numerous delays during its lengthy development. In March 2022, Saldana revealed her excitement about joining Chris Pine, who plays James T. Kirk in the action movie series, to play Lieutenant Nyota Uhura. It is unknown if and when the movie will be released in the end because the production has not yet advanced.
