On the film side, The Fabelmans and The Banshees of Inisherin took up the night’s top honours. The White Lotus, House of the Dragon, and Abbott Elementary were among of the top TV shows in recent years.

The Fabelmans, a drama directed by Steven Spielberg, won the prize for best motion picture. The prize for best director was also given to Steven Spielberg. The year-old film Argentina won the prize for best motion picture (Non-English language). Pinocchio, directed by Guillermo del Toro, won the award for best motion film (animated).

The finest television series was recognised as House of the Dragon by George R. R. Martin. At the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday, Abbott Elementary won the prize for best TV comedy.

Michelle Yeoh won best actress for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’

Michelle Yeoh, who played Michelle in Everything Everywhere All at Once, was recognised as the finest actress in a motion picture (musical or comedy). Yeoh addressed the racism and ageism she experienced in her prize-winning speech.

“As time went on — I turned 60 last year, and I think all of you women understand this,” Michelle remarked after winning the medal. It appears that opportunities are diminishing as the days, years, and numbers increase.
