Here’s everything you need to know about Golden Globes 2023
This year’s Golden Globes marked its 80th anniversary, for those of you who are unaware. The yearly event took place at the Beverly Hilton and was broadcast live on NBC and Peacock.
Jerrod Carmichael, a comedian, actor, writer, and director, presided over the 80th iteration of the ceremony. The awards ceremony featured a lot of famous people. Many celebrities received praise for their efforts.
Who was the big winner of the night?
On the film side, The Fabelmans and The Banshees of Inisherin took up the night’s top honours. The White Lotus, House of the Dragon, and Abbott Elementary were among of the top TV shows in recent years.
The Fabelmans, a drama directed by Steven Spielberg, won the prize for best motion picture. The prize for best director was also given to Steven Spielberg. The Banshees of Inisherin won the prize for greatest motion picture (musical or comedy).
The year-old film Argentina won the prize for best motion picture (Non-English language). Pinocchio, directed by Guillermo del Toro, won the award for best motion film (animated).
The finest television series was recognised as House of the Dragon by George R. R. Martin. At the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday, Abbott Elementary won the prize for best TV comedy.
Austin Butler bagged the best actor award at the Golden Globe Awards 2023
Elvis Presley’s Austin Butler received the prize for the best actor in a motion picture (drama), and Cate Blanchett got the prize for best actress for her work in Tár.
Michelle Yeoh won best actress for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’
Michelle Yeoh, who played Michelle in Everything Everywhere All at Once, was recognised as the finest actress in a motion picture (musical or comedy). Yeoh addressed the racism and ageism she experienced in her prize-winning speech.
“As time went on — I turned 60 last year, and I think all of you women understand this,” Michelle remarked after winning the medal. It appears that opportunities are diminishing as the days, years, and numbers increase. The best gift later arrived: “Everything, Everywhere All at Once.”
For his outstanding work in the film The Banshees of Inisherin, Colin Farrell, on the other hand, won the award for best actor in a motion picture (musical or comedy).
For her work in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Angela Bassett received the award for best performance by an actress in a supporting role in a motion picture. Ke Huy Quan, who starred in Everything Everywhere All at Once, won the prize for best supporting actor turn in any movie.
